Tribe of Unicorns
Tribe of Unicorns is a personal growth podcast for women who feel the pull to live louder, trust deeper, and stop waiting for permission to become who they already are.
I'm Kendra Beavis. I'm not here to tell you what to do. I share what's worked for me and bring on incredible guests to share what's worked for them. Take what lands. Leave the rest. Build your own path.
We talk about spirituality, intuition, business, bodies, boundaries, and all the messy, magical work of building a life that actually fits. Some episodes go deep into leadership and purpose. Others explore meditation, movement, play, and connecting to the other side.
Growth is never done (thank goodness). We're all students here. Cherry-pick what feels good, go forward, and create something that's yours.
New episodes drop weekly, so come on back.

A room at the top of the year. Let's begin. Find a comfortable position where you are. Now. You can close your eyes or soften your gaze. Whatever feels right for you in this moment, take a deep breath in through your nose. And let it out through your mouth. One more time. Breathe in and release. Continue with a steady flow of breath. Now I want you to imagine that you're standing at the edge of a forest just before dawn. The air is cool on your skin and everything is quiet. The world hasn't quite woken up yet, and in front of you is a tree. This is the oldest, widest tree you've ever seen. It's trunk is massive and gnarled, and as you look up, you can see its branches stretching so high, they disappear into a soft golden mist above. There's an opening in the trunk. As you look closer, you realize it's a doorway carved by time and intention. You stepped closer and feel something shift in your chest. You recognize this door. You have a sense that you've been here before. You put your hand on the handle of the door You push it open gently and step inside. The interior is warm and smells like cedar and honey. And spiraling up along the inner walls of the ancient tree is a staircase. Wooden steps that have been worn by countless others who have climbed before you. Seekers, dreamers. People just like you who came here to see what was possible. You place your hand on the wooden well worn railing and begin to climb with each step upward. You feel yourself getting lighter with every step. You feel like you're setting something down. Each step releases a little more of this past year's weight, the things that didn't work out, the disappointments, the moments that you wish you could redo that play back in your head where you played small. Or held back, didn't speak up or forgot who you really are. You don't have to name them, but you know, with each step they're falling away. One step, one breath, one release, and you keep climbing. Now you're about halfway up and you notice the walls are starting to glow. It's a soft, warm light coming through the grain of the wood, and as you go higher, it gets even brighter and brighter. You take a few more steps and you arrive at the top of the staircase. You step off into a circular room at the very top of the tree. The ceiling opens to the sky, and the first light of a new day is just beginning to spill in soft pinks and golds washing over everything. The room is simple. Beautiful. There's a cushion in the center and in front of it, a wide shallow basin filled with perfectly still water. The surface looks like glass. You sit down, you take a deep breath here. Feel how supported and grounded you are. You feel safe in this space? This room exists outside of time, outside of obligation, outside of anyone's expectations of you, I want you to lean forward and look into the water at first. You may just see your own reflection, your face as you are right now, but then the surface begins to shimmer and the image starts to change. You're now being shown something. You are seeing yourself at the end of this new year, December one year from now. And the you that you see, you are glowing. You're glowing in a way that a person glows when they're living in complete alignment with who they actually are. You make eye contact with this future version of yourself. What do you notice first? Is it the confidence? Is it the look in their eyes, the ease in their shoulders? What is the expression? Now the water begins to show you more. You see glimpses. Of how they got here, what they said yes to this year, what they finally said no to. You see the courageous conversations they had, the risks they took, that terrified them, but they took them anyway. You see the boundaries they held even when it was uncomfortable, and you see the joy they allowed in. You see the play they did and the fun they had. The rest, they stopped apologizing for you see them creating and building and connecting and receiving, and you see that they're still not perfect. That they still had hard days. They still had doubts, but they didn't let that stop them anymore. They didn't judge it. They learned from it and they kept going and they kept choosing themselves. This version of you isn't a fantasy, it's a decision. Take a moment now and ask them, what's the one thing I most need to bring in this year to become you? Wait for the answer. It may come as a word or an image, or just a feeling, a knowing. Don't try and reach for it or judge it. Just receive whatever comes in. Now you reach your hand toward the water, and as you do, the surface begins to glow. The image of your future self reaches back. And when your fingers touch, you feel a warmth move through your entire body. This is a transfer of energy, of belief and possibility coming directly to you from your future self. This person is not separate from you. They're living in you right now waiting. Say this silently to yourself. This year is my year. I am ready. I am willing, I am becoming, feel the truth of that. When you're ready, you rise from the cushion. You take one last look around this beautiful room at the top of the tree. You will remember this place and you can come back here whenever you need to. You walk back toward the staircase and begin your dissension. With each step down, you're getting more grounded. You feel more rooted, more certain, more solid. Each step you take integrates what you've just experienced. It opens it up within you, allows it to bloom and grow. Each step brings you closer to the life that you are about to live. Down, down the warm wooden walls, the soft light, you smell the cedar and honey again. Now you're at the bottom. You gently step through the doorway back to the edge of the forest and close the door behind you. The sun has risen and the world is awake, and so are you. Begin to feel the room around you again. Wiggle your toes, roll your shoulders, move your fingers. Feel the surface beneath you and the sounds of your actual space. And when you're ready, open your eyes. You have just met the version of yourself who lives this next year fully. They've shown you what is possible when you stop waiting for permission and start making decisions from trust instead of fear you've received something. Whether it be a word or a feeling, or an insight about what you need to bring in this year, don't dismiss it. Don't forget it. Write it down. Put it somewhere that you'll see it. Let it guide your choices in the weeks and months ahead. This is about remembering who you already are and finally letting her lead your best year isn't something that happens to you. It's not something that you're just lucky and you get, it's something you create one aligned choice at a time.
